About

The West Florida Railroad Museum is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and displaying the railroad history of Northwest Florida and South Alabama for the education and enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. Through the collection, preservation, and exhibition of railroad artifacts, documents, and historic equipment, the Museum seeks to promote an appreciation of the vital role railroads played in the development of our region. The Museum is chartered as a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Florida and operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.

The West Florida Railroad Museum features a historic combination freight and passenger depot, several restored outbuildings, operating model railroads, and an extensive collection of railroad artifacts and memorabilia. Together, these exhibits preserve the rich history and enduring legacy of rail transportation.

We are committed to the preservation, restoration, interpretation, and adaptive reuse of historic railroad facilities and equipment. Through these efforts, we develop engaging educational and interactive programs that inspire visitors of all ages to explore the significant role railroads have played in shaping the history, culture, and economic development of Northwest Florida and South Alabama.
